Registering with Portman Recruitment

It’s great that you are registering with Portman and we are looking forward to working with you. There are 3 steps required to register

Step 1: Compliance Documents Required

Please supply us with two documents from the following list

Proof of Address (within last 3 months)

  • Bank or Building Society Statement
  • Credit Card Statement
  • Pension Statement
  • Utilities Bill (gas, water, electric)
  • Benefits Statement (childcare, pension)

Proof of Address (within last 12 months)

  • Mortgage Statement
  • Council Tax Statement

Step 2: Complete DBS Check

Portman requires an enhanced DBS, which you can do below.

*Not applicable if you are registered on the DBS update service

Process for DBS Check

  • Click here to begin the process (opens in a new window)
  • Enter PORTMANRECRUITMENTLIMITED in organisation box
  • Leave the Organisation Code blank
  • Address history needs to cover the past 5 years
  • Use existing surname for previous firm (if it’s not changed)
  • Keep a note of the reference number once completed

Step 3: Complete Portman Registration Form

Fill in the registration form on this page and provide 2 documents.

Required Documents (valid copies are acceptable)

  • Passport
  • Driving Licence (front and back)
  • Current CV
  • Proof of Qualification Certificate
  • Proof of National Insurance
  • DBS Front Page (if using the update service)
  • Social Work England registered
  • *Referee contact details covering last 5 years employment

*For referee contact details, please provide E-Mail / Phone. We will do the chasing to obtain these references, however, if you have any references on file, please forward to them to your consultant.

Tips

Scanning Documents

We do NOT accept poorly taken photographs or low-quality scans. 

To avoid delay in processing your application:

Use Adobe Document Scanner

This is a FREE to use app, for both iOS and Android. It will ensure your documents are scanned properly and exported in the correct format. 
Further tips to avoid delay:
 

Include all 4 corners of your document and make sure the edges of the document are not cropped or cut off.

Passport – please make sure the barcode at the bottom is fully visible

Take the image in natural daylight and avoid camera flashes or light glare that can obscure data

Make sure no objects (hands/fingers/pieces of paper etc) are covering any parts of the document
