How Our Permanent Social Work Recruitment Process Works
The first step involves getting in touch with one of our dedicated consultants at Portman Recruitment. Once you express an interest, we’ll ask you to send us a CV that is up to date.
Our team then anonymises your CV so the hiring manager or the HR department judge you on your work experience, relevant voluntary work or undergraduate degree, as opposed to other non-essential factors. It also ensures that your current job isn’t jeopardised in any way. We then send you the new anonymous CV to approve. This ensures that you, the social worker, are always in control of the process.
We’ll then have a conversation with you about a variety of things. We’ll talk about which local authority interests you and the kind of full-time work that you want to go into – such as working with adults, child protection or mental health services. Our team then utilises their list of contacts across the areas that you have expressed an interest in to send out a CV and discuss the roles they have available.
If a role is found an interview is set up and before you know it you’re starting your new permanent social work job – should your interview be successful of course!
