  • They regulate their social workers to understand the areas in which greater support and provision is required, and to ensure that clients are getting the best level of care possible.

Our Relationship With Lancashire County Council

Authorities, such as Lancashire County Council, are typically governed by a vendor system. This system manages all of the jobs that the council currently has on offer, and sends them out to the agencies, like Portman who are registered with them. These jobs then get filtered to us and, based on their specifications, we put forward CVs through the same system. If a candidate is successful the vendor will request an interview through the system and we then contact the successful social worker.

We’ll then help our social workers with interview practice and technique, and call them on the day to ensure they are well-prepared. Post-interview, we’ll chase feedback from the authority and if successful, we’ll arrange a start date.

Our support doesn’t end there however. All of our social workers are assigned to a knowledgeable and supportive consultant who regularly checks in with them to help maintain job satisfaction and overall happiness.

‘’I honestly can’t fault Portman. Adam replies pretty much instantly and I think if Adam wasn’t there, I could call the Portman office and anyone would speak to me. It’s good to know that he’s there if I need anything. He’s been a fantastic support.’’ – Jeremy
